Originally located in Berryhill, David has relocated to the heart of Music Row, hosting his main production / mixing room in the famous Tom Hidley designed Masterfonics Mix Room in the Curb 28 Building.

This million dollar mix / production room, curated by David, and assembled, interfaced, and meticulously commissioned by Kalmusky’s world class team of engineers and assistants in 2024, seamlessly interface David’s incredible instrument collection, with vintage and cutting edge recording and mixing setup, integrating everything into a modern Ableton programming production / writing environment, all in one incredible room.

David comments on the new space: “I Spent a decade in a multi room facility, every element in a separately curated space. A mix room for mixing, piano room for piano, tracking room for musicians, editing room for editing. Always restricted by the workflow of the room we’d set up to create in, and spending alot of time moving around to the different spaces. I tried to combine spaces several times, but was always sacrificing in the process.

The vision for my evolved modernized current workflow, needed the right, large enough, but importantly intimate space, to be able to conceive of an idea, in it’s writing stage, and take it on it’s complete journey, to a finished master, without any compromise, in the same space, seemed nearly impossible until we discovered, and negotiated our way into this incredible space. This truly is my dream production room, given unlimited budget, I’d build exactly this!”

David Kalmusky / Addiction Sound Studio’s new limited partnership with Curb Studios, has David basing his full band production out of the amazing Curb Studio 43 facility, as well as production setups in Curb Studio 6.

Kalmusky is currently signed to Jonas Group Entertainment as a writer, fully operational in the new complex on music row with his production, guitarist & mixing work at Addiction Sound Studios, David currently sits on the board of directors for the MSMA (Muscle Shoals Music Association), and has strategic partnerships with WAVES, Trident, AVID, Native instruments, Stealth Chairs, Triad-Orbit, Miktek Microphones, consulting and influencing technology and products for the music industry.

Originally from Stratford, Ontario, David is a third-generation music maker, who grew up running the tape machine for his father, Ken Kalmusky. He hit the road at the age of sixteen as a touring guitarist, and after twenty years playing shows, David settled in Nashville. He then transitioned into a new chapter in his career, becoming an accomplished producer, session guitarist, songwriter, and mixer. David’s clients include Justin Bieber, Joe Bonamassa, Mötley Crüe, The Fray, Vince Gill, Journey, Shawn Mendes, Tenille Townes, Lennon & Maisy, Meghan Trainor, The Sisterhood, Keith Urban and many, many others.
